"The Magic Number Of Scholarships To Apply For"
|
The first question we usually
get about scholarships is: How do I find them? Use the Free Scholarship Search.
The second question
is: How many should I apply for?
Okay, the truth is there is no magic
number of scholarships for which you should apply. However, there is a magical
rule: Apply to as many scholarships as possible. The caveats are that you are,
of course, limited by time, and you must be qualified for the awards. Within
those two confines, go for it!
Some students think that they should
select only a couple scholarships to apply for so they can focus their efforts
on crafting the perfect applications for them. It is true that to have any hope
of winning you need to turn in quality applications.
However, create a balance
between the quality and quantity of your applications. Don’t apply for 75 awards
sending in the same application to each. You still need to customize your
application according to the individual award.
At the same time, don’t apply to
one or two scholarships and spend four weeks building each application.
Remember, the more scholarships you apply for, the more chances you have to
win.
